Agency Overview

The Kitchen Inc. brings stability and purpose to people who are homeless through five programs:

Affordable Housing Developments includes 222 affordable housing units to meet the need for safe, desirable, and affordable housing for low-income families in our community.

Community Housing is designed to help people quickly exit homelessness and return to permanent housing. Case managers work with clients to address the barriers that led to homelessness so they can acheive long-term housing stability.

The Emergency Shelter provides a safe place for people to shelter before they can move in to permanent housing. The shelter has 14 apartments with a 50-bed capacity to serve families of all sizes. Case managers work with clients to prepare them enter and maintain permanent housing when they leave shelter.

Home At Last, funded by Supportive Services for Veteran Families, serves Veterans and their families who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. The program provides short-term assistance to help Veterans acheive long-term housing stability.

Rare Breed Youth Services provides a variety of services to at-risk and homeless youth ages 13-24 at the Rare Breed Youth Outreach Center including showers, laundry, a meal, computer access, infant care items, case management, and housing assistance.

In 2020, The Kitchen, Inc. housed 695 people, including 211 children. 600+ youth accessed services at The Rare Breed Youth Outreach Center.
