Discover The Difference at EnCompass Academy

Project of
EnCompass Academy

When we opened our school in the fall of 2020, during the midst of a global pandemic, we offered a different way of learning in the classroom. We saw a need in our community, and stepped up to provide an inclusive school for learners of all abilities.

Project Overview

At EnCompass Academy, we include learners of all abilities in each classroom who actively learn alongside each other.  You will notice the difference when you walk in the door, because students of all abilities are learning together.  Our approach is special, and our team of teachers, inclusion advocates, and partnering therapists all work together to help EnCompass Academy students reach their fullest potential.  Students attend school year round, which aids in learning retention and consistent instruction.

Since all of the funding for our non-profit school comes from our tuition-based model and donations, we are launching this campaign to raise money for scholarship funds and additional sensory equipment.

We know that this model of education works especially well for students who tend to fall through the cracks in traditional public school settings, but unfortunately it is often financially out of reach for the most vulnerable students. This funding would further our vision of inclusion for all learners, by offering scholarships to students from a wider range of socio-economic levels where tuition would be a barrier to accessing this type of education.

Purchasing additional key sensory equipment for our classrooms is another way we plan to use donations from this campaign.  Offering sensory rich experiences is extremely relevant to our hands-on approach.  Why is sensory equipment so important? Research shows that sensory play builds nerve connections in the brain’s pathways, which lead to the child’s ability to complete more complex learning tasks. Sensory play supports all types of development, including cognitive growth, fine and gross motor skills, language development, problem solving skills, sensory regulation and social interaction.

We love providing inclusive educational opportunities to the Springfield community and witness the growth in our EnCompass Academy learners daily. Check out our website at: wwwencompassa.org

Please show your support for EnCompass Academy by making a donation today! EVERY gift will help us reach our goal of $20,000 by June 30th!  Thank you for supporting our students and families by providing scholarship opportunities and sensory equipment that will benefit all of our learners.

About EnCompass Academy

Encompass means to include, which supports our school’s philosophy of inclusion. Our culture supports students with love and compassion, encircling them and protecting them from harm or bullying, as they learn to advocate for, and identify the strengths within each of their peers, as well as themselves. By celebrating the differences and strengths within all of us, our students discover their own strengths as well, guided by professional teachers and staff who serve as a compass for each student – empowering them to become independent, confident learners who will someday be successful community members who advocate for all.
