Project Overview
GYNCA has funded over 21,100 miles so far this year, that is January and February alone.
Do you think 21,100 miles seems like a lot?
Now imagine all of those miles were driven by only 35 members.
Here's the breakdown:
On average, each member is traveling 603 miles a month, in the fight of their lives.
That is nearly $800 per month in additional unbudgeted expenses, due to their cancer diagnosis.
Most of us don't budget for cancer, but it can happen to anyone.
On top of growing medical bills, and reduced income (many of our clients are simply not well enough to work), and the increasing gas pricies, these funds are needed more than ever.
Yearly we estimate our members will travel nearly 130,000 miles! With our current gas prices, and those prices on the rise, we estimate GYNCA will fund nearly $350,000 in transportation expenses.
GYNCA supports 30 counties in SW Missouri. That number continues to grow, as we identify more need in our rural counties.

About GYN Cancers Alliance | “GYNCA”
GYNCA Mission
GYNCA provides education, support and resources to women, and their families, in southwest Missouri with gynecologic cancers, and raises awareness about early-warning signs and symptoms.
GYNCA Services
GYNCA is a one-of-a-kind organization in the United States in that we provide four key components inherent to the support and assistance of gynecologic cancer survivors, while other agencies may provide one or two of these programs. In many cases these programs are offered by area hospitals. Our organization brings all gynecologic cancer patients together, including their caregivers and families, no matter if they are seeing a local GYN Oncologist or traveling to larger cancer centers. GYN Cancers Alliance strives to keep the vision of our twelve founding women alive through the following programs:
-
Survivor-to-Survivor Mentoring through Imerman Angels
-
New Hope Support Group Meetings
-
Education & Awareness
-
Emergency Non-Medical Financial Assistance
