About Doula Foundation
The Doula Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 serving at-risk newborns, moms, and families in need suffering from extreme trauma by providing health, wellness, and evidence-based education through pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood. This community-based doula program provides trauma-informed care, case management, and in-home health care with a team of Certified Perinatal Community Health Workers who specialize in birth and postpartum education and community resource referrals.
This essential program for low-income expectant families provides prevention and support: preventing and addressing COVID-19, child abuse and neglect, failure to thrive, entrance into the foster care system, prematurity, low birth-weight deliveries, and emergency room visits; and supporting prenatal and trauma-informed care, early linkage to proper medical care, lactation, maternal bonding, infant care, parenting education, postpartum health, positive child-maternal health outcomes, and life-long child development skills.
The Doula Foundation is dedicated to helping build healthier families and a healthier community.
