Project Overview

Over the last year, Pro Musica has actively responded to the COVID-19 pandemic by creating Overtures of Hope tribute concerts for health care workers and others impacted by the pandemic; and launching an exciting digital collaboration in partnership with NYC's Lincoln Center.

However, we haven't been able to do what we do best: offer our 100% free, in-person concerts featuring internationally-touring classical and jazz musicians.
Now, our Chamber Series is once again on the move!
We've devised a way to ensure we can safely resume: outdoors! But this new idea brings new challenges. As we bravely take this step forward, the reality is this: producing outdoor events requires significant new costs.

Pro Musica is committed to reopening with three signature concerts this spring: Invoke Quartet (April), Boston Brass (May), and Brubeck Brothers Quartet (June). As always, we'll also provide arts education programming while all of these ensembles are in town.
This has been a challenging year for performing arts organizations like Pro Musica. With your help, we're determined to continue bringing Ageless Music for All Ages to Joplin!

About Pro Musica

For over four decades, we’ve championed one belief: that everyone deserves access to the highest quality classical chamber music, regardless of their ability to afford an expensive ticket.

Our Chamber Series presents touring national and international ensembles free-of-charge to the public. Musicians also engage in rich Arts Education with area public, private, and home school students, and facilitate masterclasses with Missouri Southern State University students, reaching hundreds of area students each year.

We also produce an annual ticketed Jazz Concert benefit, intergenerational Bach-A-Bye Baby concerts in partnership with Joplin Public Library, outreach performances at assisted living centers, hospitals, domestic violence shelters; and cultivate the next generation of classical music fans with adventurous presentations in coffee shops, restaurants, and outdoors.

We rely on the support of dozens of donors like you, corporate and business sponsors, foundations, and taxpayers via the Missouri Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.

Please consider making an investment in Ageless Music for All Ages!
