Poverty Relief: Your Change Equals Positive Change in SW MO

Five factors impacting poverty include economic and family security; education; food and nutrition; health; and housing and energy. When there is insecurity in one of these areas, the other areas in a person's life suffer.

Project Overview

Jack is a father with two children who works full-time, earning minimum wage. He attends school part-time to improve his skills and expand his opportunities for employment paying a living wage. Jack works hard to provide for his family, but they are struggling, making just over $21,000 annually.

Jack, like hundreds of thousands of Missourians, lives below the poverty line. His earnings are stretched thin to pay for basic needs, and likely aren't enough to cover unexpected bills, emergencies, retirement, let alone - fun with his family.

Your Change Makes a Bold Change

Your gift empowers OACAC's bold, innovative and longstanding programs and projects to meet the needs of our communities served in an unrestricted and flexible way. Your donation helps us provide:

  • Critically needed medications to adults
  • Necessary home repairs
  • Utility reconnections
  • Mentorship opportunities for seniors
  • Access to services, both in-person and virtually
  • Education and skills for empowered self-sufficiency
  • Hope for a better life for the people we serve

As a Community Action Agency, we work to provide equity and opportunities for children, adults, seniors, individuals, families, and communities. We do so through our programs and projects, with the support of partners, volunteers, and donors.

Thank you for your compassion and kindness.

Thank you

Thank you for being a giver on this Give Ozarks Day. Your generosity in support of the children, teens, adults, and communities we serve makes a big impact and it is thoughtfully appreciated.

“All of us, at some time or other, need help. Whether we’re giving or receiving help, each one of us has something valuable to bring to this world. That’s one of the things that connects us as neighbors—in our own way, each one of us is a giver and a receiver.” - Fred Rogers

We invite you to stay connected with our programs and projects to hear about success stories, opportunities, services, and more.

Kindest regards,
Your friends at Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC)
