Parents of children with special needs face many hurdles in navigating the best care and resources in our area. It is difficult to imagine the overwhelming amount of time, research and energy parents put into just finding information.
Include Ozarks provides resources, support, and education to families of children with special needs and their communities. During the Month of Momentum our goal is to raise $5,000 in order to complete a web-based resource portal. This portal will serve families of children with special needs, many with newly diagnosed needs, by guiding them to resources and services that will help their child achieve their full potential.
The foundation of this portal is already in place, however we still need funding to complete the process of loading these resources into the website. Bringing this resource to completion will alleviate the stress and confusion for families of children with newly diagnosed disabilities. In addition, this portal will become a resource, not only for families, but for providers throughout the community and region. Pediatricians, Specialists, Service Coordinators, Social Workers, and other professionals will have ONE PLACE where they can guide the families they work with on a daily basis.
Examples of the categories to be listed include: Autism Services, Family Support and Education, Support Groups, Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Skills Groups, Recreational Activities, Financial Assistance/Grants, Orthotics, Respite, Childcare, Music Therapy, Sensory Safe Activities, and more.
