Project Overview

Please partner with us to preserve this important historical treasure!

Contribute to the Historic Owen Theatre Capital Campaign and join us in preserving the visionary legacy started by Jim Owen over 85 years ago!

CLICK HERE to watch a short 2:45 minute video about this historic venue.

Your donation will assist the Branson Regional Arts Council in providing high-quality community theatre and arts education programs for all residents in our area, especially our valuable youth through our Conservatory of the Performing and Visual Arts programming. Visit BransonArts.org for more information on these programs.

Your generous investment will benefit our capital campaign fund and also be used to preserve many of the historic features of the venue, such as restoring the outside facade to it's original, rustic glory, while repairing and upgrading the inside plumbing, sewer, security and technical needs required of a modern public performing arts facility. We also plan to erect a bronze stature of Jim Owen, holding a fishing pole and his famous pipe, outside in front of the venue to welcome all who visit.

Branson's FIRST THEATRE deserves to be preserved for future generations. Let's keep the performing and visual arts thriving in Branson by investing in YOUR COMMUNITY THEATRE!

Thank you for your support!

Jim Barber, Executive Director and the BRAC Board of Directors

About Branson Regional Arts Council

The Branson Regional Arts Council provides cultural arts opportunities in music, theatre, dance and visual arts for youth and adults.

Our mission is “to provide artistic, cultural and educational opportunities that support, strengthen and enhance artistic experiences for people of all ages in our area.”

In January 2018 BRAC moved it's office into the Historic Owen Theatre in downtown Branson, Missouri and created a Youth Conservatory of the Arts Program in addition to a popular Community Theatre Performance Series. It is our goal to develop and preserve the theatre venue as a full time, community arts eductional facility for future generations to come.

BRAC was founded in 1965 as the “Taney Arts Council,” and officially established 501 (c)(3) non-profit status as “Branson Arts Council, Inc.” in 1993. Financial assistance is provided by theatre patrons and donors like you, as well as the Missouri Arts Council and City of Branson.
