Sponsor a Child – Life-Changing Therapy is Needed!

Help us provide therapy for children in our community! We specialize in aquatic and hippotherapy using the horse and the pool as a therapy tool. Over 70% of our patients are on Medicaid, leaving us to fundraise over $500,000 a year to continue operating. Check out our video to see what we are doing!

Project Overview

Dynamic Strides Therapy is asking for your help. Please consider Sponsoring a Child, and help us recover from the Covid-19 Pandemic. DST lost many hours of paient revenue, opportunites to fundraise, and loss of staff members. Throughout the year, we estimate we lost approximately $175,000 in what would normally help us achieve our operating budget. Every dollar helps us keep our doors open and we thank you for your generous donation.

Established in 2016 with patient services started in 2018, Dynamic Strides Therapy is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to improving accessibility to pediatric therapy andproviding children with quality occupational, physical, and speech therapies. Our patientsreceive unique treatment that combines traditional occupational, physical and speech therapieswith therapeutic benefits of equine movement, a unique sensory gym, off-site aquatic therapy, and the compassionate support of skilled, certified therapists. Our mission is to empowerchildren to achieve their maximum potential by providing accessibility to skilled therapyservices in an integrated environment. Access to services is so often limited due to waitlists, insurance limitations, especially with children utilizing Medicaid and lacks inclusivity forservices. The design of our organization helps us to continually work toward our mission ofhelping children achieve their maximum potential by providing skilled therapy services in anintegrated environment.

Our patients are children birth to 21 years old with special health care needs including, but notlimited to, those with various genetic or chromosomal abnormalities, developmental delays, neurological impairments, brain injuries, or other conditions which may require long-termtherapeutic intervention; some requiring one type of therapy, but many requiring multipletherapeutic modalities. There is a large demand for pediatric therapy services in our area, which is unmet by current facilities in the community. This need is consistent across all therapy disciplines and families are seeking alternatives to traditional therapy services.

DST possesses several competitive advantages over other pediatric therapy facilities in the area.First, is our unique, but easily accessible location. DST is located on a farm with livestock, sotherapists can utilize the outdoor environment to address functional skills and sensory deficitsin a unique, fun and engaging way. There is a city park accessible to our staff which can beutilized, weather-permitting. Families are encouraged to observe sessions through the large windowsin our viewing room. Second is the knowledge-base of our personnel. Each of our professional licensed therapistshave a significant amount of pediatric experience and meet or exceed the required number ofhours of continuing education established by their professional association each year.

Finally, DST strives to be an all-inclusive facility in the services we offer. We are the only facility in the area offering skilled occupational, physical, and speech therapy services with the incorporation of hippotherapy, aquatics, and a sensory gym into the plan of care. This reduces time, money, and stress from travel between facilities. We continually seek input from families and professionals in the area to see how inclusivity may be improved. The “Opening More Doors” program is an ongoing community service project of Dynamic Strides Therapy that allows our organization to provide therapy services to children with specialneeds. The program supports these children in Southwest Missouri by utilizing three goal-oriented approaches. The three approaches are: 1. Improving accessibility to skilled pediatrictherapy services in Southwest Missouri. 2. Providing an integrated environment in pediatrictherapy to ease the burden on families requiring multiple services and allowing a morecustomized plan of care for the child. 3. Helping our patients achieve their maximum potentialwith assistance from our highly-trained and experienced therapists.
