About Sculpture Walk Springfield
Sculpture Walk Springfield is an initiative aimed at creating a museum without walls by displaying a collection of quality sculptures in public places in downtown Springfield on an annually rotating schedule. Public art has proven itself to play a major role in rejuvenating public spaces and local economies by transforming them into destinations. Sculpture Walk Springfield plays a major role in the economic rejuvenation of Springfield by adding character and value to downtown. With support from our community, we come together to improve our local economy, add to the aesthetic of downtown Springfield, and spark excitement in downtown, attracting locals and tourists alike. We invite you to be a part of our movement to bring more public art to Springfield.
To encourage the artistic transformation of Springfield through outdoor sculpture, thus enhancing our quality of life and promoting economic development.
To create a museum without walls with access to all.
HOW ARE DONATIONS USED?
With 100% of our operating costs covered by our generous presenting sponsor, all other donations go toward new sculptures for each collection. Each year in February, we choose 20+ new sculptures for our rotating collection. Each sculpture is secured for a $1,000 stipend that is paid to the artists. Our goal is to have several sculptures in our 2019-2020 collection that were completely funded and chosen by our community through this Community Foundation of the Ozarks fundraising opportunity.
