Project Overview

Sculpture Walk Springfield is an annually rotating exhibit of sculpture from across the nation and beyond. With support from our community, we come together to improve our local economy. Sculpture Walk Springfield sparks excitement in downtown, attracting locals and tourists alike. We invite you to be a part of our movement.

Sculpture Walk Springfield's mission is "to encourage the artistic transformation of Springfield through outdoor sculpture, thus enhancing our quality of life and promoting economic development." With that as our mission, our focus is to support artists and encourage their professional growth through the placement of their sculpture in downtown Springfield.

Public art is proven to revitalize communities, prevent crime, generate revenue, and, among many more reasons, create a sense of place. Through public art, and visible support of the arts, citizens are exposed to new ideas and information — challenged and stimulated by what they see. We want to be innovative and offer an environment to the businesses, workers, and citizens of Springfield that is creative and thought-provoking. Further, cities that feature public art are attractive to tourists, young entrepreneurs, and new businesses.

Our fundraising efforts are typically focused on large donations from sponsors in order to pay each artist a $1,000 stipend to borrow their sculpture for 10 months. For this project we are focusing on small donations. Donations of any size will help achieve our mission of "creating a museum without walls with access to all in downtown Springfield." Join us to bring more public art to Springfield! Your donation directly funds more sculptures in our community.

OUR MISSION

To encourage the artistic transformation of Springfield through outdoor sculpture, thus enhancing our quality of life and promoting economic development.

OUR VISION

To create a museum without walls with access to all.

HOW ARE DONATIONS USED?

With 100% of our operating costs covered by our generous presenting sponsor, all other donations go toward new sculptures for each collection. Each year in February, we choose 20+ new sculptures for our rotating collection. Each sculpture is secured for a $1,000 stipend that is paid to the artists. Our goal is to have several sculptures in our 2019-2020 collection that were completely funded and chosen by our community through this Community Foundation of the Ozarks fundraising opportunity.
