Help Us Help Them: Sustaining Working Women

Project of
Women in Need

Women In Need of the Ozarks serves women in Greene and Christian counties and provides one-time financial assistance in times of crisis. To qualify, they must work 35 hours a week and be single. We empower women to overcome obstacles and self-sustain long-term. We are a hand-up, not a handout.

Project Overview

Women In Need of the Ozarks has been assisting single, hard-working women since 2003. We are a not-for-profit organization designed to improve our local community by providing Women In Need the opportunity to enhance their self-esteem. WIN fills the gaps that other agencies provide too slowly, or not at all for many women.

We pledge to provide resources necessary to enable WIN to become women of strength and provide reinforcement as they develop the qualities of compassion, professionalism, and motivation.

The ladies we help have to be single and work 35 hours a week. WIN provides these qualified ladies with a one-time hand-up, not hand-out, during a time of crisis. Typical help would include paying a recipient's utilities, rent, medical or similar bill.

The WIN board and committee members are 100% volunteer-based and everything we raise goes directly to helping women right here in the Ozarks.  In 2019 we helped 34 women and 47 children and in 2020 we helped 19 women and 23 children. Your financial support of our heart-felt mission will help fund additional applicants in their time of need.
